Robbed in Spain!
We had a fun trip to Barcelona, Spain. As we killed some time walking around before heading to the airport, I decided - hey, why not take some pictures! The girls sat on a bench while I removed the camera from my backpack and then set the bag right next to them on the bench. I then proceeded to take these pictures, the first is the restaurant we ate at and the second is the train station. Taking both of these pictures took about 30 seconds.

I then decided to take a picture of the girls.

At this time none of us knew yet that we had been robbed. I then walked over to the girls and looked for my bag to put the camera away and was dismayed to find that it was gone. Someone had the balls to steal the bag within 40 seconds and when it was sitting right next to the owners!
We walked around looking in all the trash cans in case he threw the bag away, after a while Laura found my wallet in a trash can a long ways away, sitting right next to a metro station (different station than the one in the picture). All the credit cards and identification had been removed, still no sign of the backpack. While I called and canceled the credit cards Laura went into the metro station and snooped around. She found her blue pen sitting on a bench; obviously the robber ditched the pen and then hopped on the metro train when it arrived.
We filed a police report, it was a frustrating and yet comical experience because we don’t speak Spanish and the officer didn’t know English.
